About the BGPhoto Experience

Attention-Grabbing Headshots or a Memory-Making Portrait is about so much more than simply capturing your likeness. That’s why at BGPhoto, we take special care in getting to know you your and your needs, and address your goals, concerns, and desires. Together we will create a session plan, discuss wardrobe, session location, and where and how the finished custom artwork will be displayed in your home (in the case of a Custom Portrait and provided that you choose to purchase finished artwork). From consultation to product delivery (custom artword or digital files), BGPhoto promises to provide you with the guidance and experience that you deserve.

Here’s what you can expect:

The Planning Session: This session is a required part of the BGPhoto Creative Process. We will navigate the ins and outs of your session, and more importantly, we will get to know one another BEFORE the camera ever gets involved. We’ll talk about wardrobe, and provide you with ideas to ensure your headshot or family portrait will look great. We’ll also discuss your desired location for your session. Whatever location you ultimately decide, we will visit that location prior to your session, but at the exact same time you schedule your session, so we can experience the conditions as they should be on the day of your session. We will start pre-planning for your shoot during that visit. We’ll be looking at lighting, background, textures, colors, and other aspects of the location which would affect your final images. For Headshots, the Planning Session takes place via telephone; for Portraits, the Planning Session is in-person, preferably at your home (or any other location if that’s not possible).

The Photo Session: Your photo session will be designed around our Planning Session. No surprises!

Curating and Editing: At BGPhoto, the focus is always on quality over quantity. Only the best images from your photo session will be hand-edited and prepared for presentation. This allows you to put your focus on where it should be - enjoying the experience. For Headshots, you’ll decide on the best look, or perhaps two or more looks if that’s what you decided on. For Portraits, you’ll decide upon selecting which images you want to display in your home or perhaps to take home in digital form. And if you want something specific or special done to your images that we do not do through our Standard Editing Service, you can always request Signature Edits for a small extra charge.

The Design and Ordering Session: For Portraits, you’ll Enjoy a custom slideshow, and view your images on your virtual wall as part of The Design and Ordering Session. Choose from custom heirloom albums, archival prints, show-stopping wall art, and more! Purchase only what you love and what compliments your style. Let’s explore the possibilities together and actually start designing the products you wish to bring into your home. For Headshots, once you decide on the perfect look for you, we’ll prepare a high-resolution digital file for you and deliver it however you wish.
